Merrymeeting Soccer Club provides opportunities for boys and girls living within the SAD 75 area to play travel team soccer consistent with the guidelines of the United States Soccer Federation and Soccer Maine. The Club encourages play within the State of Maine, and supports competitive interstate options for individual teams at their discretion and in accordance with equitable budgetary allocations. While striving to field competitive teams within all age groups, the Club will foster, through its coaches, players, and parents, an atmosphere that promotes mutual respect, individual dignity, an appreciation of team play, and good sportsmanship. Through adherence to these fundamental principles of youth athletics, it is the goal of Merrymeeting Soccer Club to make travel team soccer an enjoyable experience for players, coaches, and their families.

Merrymeeting Soccer Club Registers in Soccer Maine’s most popular league  the Fall Classic League, which features boys, girls and coed teams in U9-U14 age groups.

These girls have been winners, champions many times over on the pitch, but I would be remiss if I did not mention that these wins are just about the least impressive thing about these athletes.

They are gifted students, incredible leaders, mentors, amazing sisters, sweet friends, soccer lovers, cheerleaders and the best sportswomen imaginable.

I have seen them out early on cold mornings, signs in hands cheering for the younger ones. I've seen them many miles from home, after a long day cheering for their male peers. They are the first ones at the fence to console friends after a tough loss. They are out conditioning, together, running to a watch a girl's high school summer game. They are also the first ones to congratulate their opponents on a great game. These girls win because they believe in each other, they lift each other up and they show up for each other 100% of the time. They should be proud of the way they have represented our club, their coach, their parents, and themselves.

They are inspirational and we hope the ones behind them are watching!! They win in the best way possible. And they are led in the best way possible. Watch out for these girls, they will immediately make a positive impact in whatever they pursue in High School, but I for one, am counting the days until I see them in a Mt Ararat or a Monmouth Uniform on the Soccer Field.
